Chapter 11 - THE UNDERGROUND BOARDROOM

The tunnel ended beneath Whitmore House.
The mansion still smoked above them, but the family’s emergency boardroom had been built like a bunker. Through a hidden observation vent, Evelyn saw twelve directors seated around a steel table.
Charles stood at the head.
“Evelyn Brooks is unstable,” he told them. “She kidnapped my grandson, forged Daniel’s video, and attempted to seize the company.”
Several directors looked uncertain.
Then Charles placed a document on the table.
It appeared to be a psychiatric report declaring Evelyn delusional.
The signature belonged to Dr. Samuel Price.
Evelyn’s stomach dropped.
Adrian whispered, “Forgery.”
Ortiz recorded through the vent.
Charles continued. “Vote now to remove her authority before she destroys Whitmore Global.”
Before the vote, the lights flickered.
Noah’s voice came through the boardroom speakers.
“Grandfather, you forgot Dad gave me access.”
Every screen in the room lit up with the bedroom video: Victoria restraining Noah, Grant removing the wheelchair, Charles describing the planned fire.
Directors began shouting.
The bunker doors locked automatically.
Noah appeared on-screen from the clinic beside Mason and Dr. Price.
“You called me an unfortunate legacy,” Noah said. “Dad called me his reason to keep fighting.”
Charles drew a pistol from under the table.
Evelyn entered through the hidden door.
“It’s over,” she said.
Charles aimed at her.
Adrian stepped between them.
The gun fired.
Adrian fell.
Ortiz shot the weapon from Charles’s hand, and officers stormed the bunker.
As Charles was handcuffed, he leaned close to Evelyn.
“You think you won because of a child and a dead man’s recording?”
Evelyn looked at Adrian on the floor. He was bleeding but conscious.
Charles smiled.
“Daniel’s plane crash wasn’t the first death in this family.”
May you like
He nodded toward Evelyn.
“Ask her why Daniel chose a housekeeper to raise his son.”
