They suggested the maid developed an unhealthy attachment to the wealthy widow.
They described the wrist incident as an employee attacking a guest during a private medical crisis.
The video showed only part of the moment.
Vanessa’s raised hand.
Emma’s grip.
Alexander behind them.
The sound before the recording was unclear.
Vanessa argued she had been reaching to adjust Eleanor’s shawl.
The lower-lip injury came from a fall.
The medicine came from Dr. Vale.
The guardianship plan came from concern.
Every isolated fact had an explanation.

Reporters gathered outside the hospital.
One shouted that Emma had been involved in Hale’s disappearance.
Another asked whether she expected to inherit palace money.
Emma’s face appeared beside headlines calling her the palace maid who wanted millions.
Mateo called from his treatment center.
“Is any of it true?”
“No.”
“I know.”
“Then why did you ask?”
“Because people here are showing me videos.”
Emma closed her eyes.
“Do you feel safe?”
“Yes.”
“A security officer came.”
Alexander had arranged protection without telling her.
Emma appreciated the action.
She disliked that he had not asked.
“I may need you moved.”
“I do not want special treatment.”
“This is not special treatment.”
“Someone forged my passport and named me in a disappearance.”
Mateo became quiet.
“Are you scared?”
“Yes.”
It was the first time she admitted it.
The palace management offered Emma a private room in another property.
She refused until Rebecca arranged the agreement independently.
No hidden employment conditions.
No confidentiality clause.
No financial control by Alexander.
The new room belonged to a witness-protection arrangement, not charity.
That difference mattered.
Detective Ortiz searched Hale’s vehicle.
The blood belonged to Hale.

Vanessa had been recording everyone.
One screen displayed Emma’s former room.
Another displayed Eleanor’s hospital bed through a compromised camera system.
Hale was not there.
But the room contained hundreds of edited clips.
One showed Emma placing pills into Eleanor’s glass.
The original file revealed the truth.
Emma was placing a vitamin beside breakfast six months earlier.
The date had been changed.
