Chapter 11 - THE TRAITOR BESIDE MY FATHERThe missing pages contained the names of officials paid through Vale Dominion accounts.

My father ordered an immediate internal lockdown.

Employees lost access to sensitive systems.

Senior executives were questioned.

Every transfer connected to the Ivory List was examined.

The audit identified one person with access to both Vale Dominion records and Nathan’s network.

Richard Voss.

He had served as my father’s legal director for seventeen years.

Richard had attended my childhood birthdays.

He helped establish my trusts.

He was also the man who advised Dad not to tell me about Nathan’s investigation.

When agents arrived at Richard’s office, he was gone.

His computer had been wiped.

His company vehicle was found near the river.

For several hours, investigators feared he had fled the country.

Then Jordan discovered an emergency amendment filed with a private commercial court.

The document attempted to remove me as controller of Vale Meridian.

It claimed my recent trauma made me incapable of managing the terminal.

Richard had filed it less than an hour after Celeste escaped supervision.

“He is continuing Nathan’s competence strategy,” I said.

Jordan nodded.

“If the court approves this, control transfers to a temporary trustee.”

“Who?”

She turned the page.

“Richard Voss.”

Everything connected at once.

Nathan had not invented the plan to erase me.

Richard had taught him how.

He had access to my medical surveillance reports.

He knew my hidden assets.

He knew which doctors and attorneys could be pressured.

Most importantly, he knew my father would protect Vale Dominion before exposing internal corruption.

I called Dad.

He arrived at Jordan’s office twenty minutes later.

When I showed him the amendment, his face became hard.

“I trusted him.”

“So did I.”

“Richard designed the succession restrictions.”

“He also signed the recommendation that I remain unaware of my inheritance.”

Dad read the signature code.

Recognition crossed his face.

“I should have seen it.”

“You saw what he wanted you to see.”

The court scheduled an emergency hearing for the next morning.

Richard’s attorneys appeared without revealing his location.

They argued that I was under the influence of my father and incapable of independent decisions.

Jordan presented the forged signatures, the recovered audio, and my medical evaluation.

Then Richard’s team produced a private recording.

My voice filled the courtroom.

“I stayed because my father told me to.”

The sentence had been taken from a long conversation after the staircase incident.

In the full recording, I had told Hannah that my father wanted me to leave, but I stayed because I believed the investigation needed stronger evidence.

Richard’s team had edited the words to suggest Dad ordered me to remain with Nathan.

The judge listened carefully.

“Where is the complete recording?” she asked.

Richard’s lawyer claimed it had been lost.

Jordan stood.

“We have the complete recording.”

Hannah had saved it.

The unedited conversation destroyed Richard’s argument.

The judge rejected the emergency amendment and referred the filing to criminal investigators.

As we left the courthouse, reporters surrounded us.

A black vehicle accelerated from the curb.

At first, I thought the driver was trying to escape the cameras.

Then it turned sharply toward my father.

I shouted.

Dad moved back.

The vehicle struck the stone barrier and stopped.

Agents pulled the driver from behind the wheel.

It was Richard Voss.

He had not been fleeing.

He had come to silence the one man who could expose how long the betrayal had lasted.

Inside Richard’s car, investigators found the missing Ivory Ledger pages.

They also found a sealed letter addressed to Nathan.
